I first learnt about yoga nidra thanks to the lovely Sarah, founder of Your Space Yoga in Wivenhoe. Sarah ended some of her classes with a 10-15 minute yoga nidra.
Yoga nidra mean 'sleep yoga' or 'ýogic sleep' and is meant to be the deepest state of relaxation whilst remaining conscious... although it doesn't matter if you do fall asleep and in fact some yoga nidras are designed to help you fall asleep.
Great for anxiety, stress and insomnia, it's effectively a guided relaxation that talks you how to relax your entire body, muscle by muscle. You'll melt into your mat or bed and feel like a different person after. It's basically like a free massage or reflexology session except you use your mind to let go of tension.
